Humanitarian Highlight 08.28.25

Being a good neighbor means showing up, lending a hand, and sharing what you have. That’s exactly what credit unions across the country are doing. From handing out backpacks, supporting teachers, or raising money to feed hungry, good neighbors are there. This week, we’re celebrating six “Good Neighbors” who are making a real difference in their communities.

Municipal Credit Union

Municipal Credit Union joined forces with Public Health Solutions to pack over 700 backpacks for students across five boroughs of New York City. Each bag came filled with supplies students need to succeed. Municipal CU continues to show how good neighbors support the next generation.

Century Federal Credit Union

Century Federal Credit Union took their community support to the golf course! As a proud Hole Sponsor at the Euclid Chamber Golf Outing, they offered giveaways, networking, and good vibes. Gerard, Lisa, and Karri welcomed everyone with warm smiles and friendly advice. Their presence on the green showed that good neighbors show up where the community gathers.

State Employees’ Credit Union

The team at State Employees’ Credit Union’s North Chatham Park Branch rolled up their sleeves and partnered with the Rotary Club of Pittsboro. Together, they delivered essential school supplies to local elementary schools in Chapel Hill. SECU knows that strong communities begin with strong schools.

Endurance Federal Credit Union

Endurance Federal Credit Union made sure no teacher felt overlooked. They awarded $1,000 to Amanda Copeland of Empire Public Schools. But with so many praiseworthy entrees, they couldn’t stop there. Two more deserving teachers from Elk City Elementary received $500 grants. Thank you, Endurance FCU!

Solarity Credit Union

Solarity Credit Union rallied the community with their annual School Supply Drive. From backpacks and glue sticks to pencils and notebooks, donors filled bins at Solarity branches across Yakima and Wenatchee. Every donated item helps students feel ready and confident for the school year. Solarity proves that good neighbors know the value of starting strong.

The County Federal Credit Union

The County Federal Credit Union turned mini golf into a mission. Their “Putt to End Hunger” event at Goughan’s Farm raised funds for local food pantries and Meals on Wheels. With every round played, they moved one step closer to ending hunger in their community. With ice cream, laughs, and 50/50 raffles, it was a feel-good day for a serious cause. That’s what makes The County a truly good neighbor.
