Humanitarian Highlight 08.21.25
Credit unions across the country are stepping up as community catalysts. They inspire action, create joyful connections, and support local causes in big-hearted ways. From charity barbecues to blood drives, these credit unions prove that real change starts with small sparks. Let’s highlight six CUs fueling change by being a community catalyst.
Fort Worth Community Credit Union
Fort Worth Community Credit Union turned an ordinary chapter dinner into an unforgettable evening. Members laughed, sang, and cheered their way through a lively music bingo night. The event brought everyone together through play, connection, and a lot of smiling faces. Fort Worth CU used fun and fellowship to spark community spirit, and that’s exactly what a catalyst does.
First Northern Credit Union
First Northern Credit Union hosted a free Summer Bash in Rockford. With bounce houses, balloon animals, games, food, and face painting, the event offered something for everyone. Proceeds from the dunk tank supported Empower Boone. Great work, First Northern CU!
Metco Credit Union
Metco Credit Union fired up the grill for a great cause. Their Charity BBQ Fundraiser raised money for His Hands Free Clinic in Cedar Rapids. Community members grabbed lunch, shared laughs, and supported local healthcare. Friends came hungry and left full of food and goodwill.
TruEnergy Federal Credit Union
TruEnergy Federal Credit Union spent a day at JA Finance Park guiding students toward financial confidence. They helped teens build mock budgets, explore careers, and plan for the future. With every lesson, TruEnergy FCU sparked brighter dreams. That’s what a community catalyst does best.
Muskogee Federal Credit Union
Muskogee Federal Credit Union took action by hosting a community blood drive at its Tahlequah location. Partnering with the Our Blood Institute, they invited locals to donate and help save lives. One pint of blood can save up to three people. Muskogee CU turned compassion into action and helped their neighbors in a life-changing way.
Liberty First Credit Union
Liberty First Credit Union collected donations for The Capital Humane Society and The Nebraska Humane Society. Employees and members donated food, toys, and supplies for animals in need. Liberty First reminded everyone that communities include pets, too.
