Humanitarian Highlight 11.09.23

In the heart of our communities, there exist local heroes that often go unnoticed. Credit unions are examples of such unsung heroes. In this week’s #HumanitarianHighlight, we follow CUs revealing their roles as true local heroes.

Brewer Federal Credit Union

When it comes to fighting hunger, Brewer Federal Credit Union takes the heroic leap. As part of Maine Credit Union’s Ending Hunger Campaign, they donated $8,000 to C.H.E.F.S. This generosity is part of their celebration of the 75th International Credit Union Day. This compassionate act supports food cupboards and pantries across the state. Thank you Brewer FCU for ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry.

Logix Federal Credit Union

Logix Federal Credit Union donated $10,000 each to The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation and New West Symphony as part of their Paying with a Purpose: Curtain Up for Kindness Campaign. The credit union donates two cents for every purchase or payment made using their Logix Mastercard credit and debit cards. This initiative has been running since 2020, and it beautifully combines art with kindness.

Chattahoochee Federal Credit Union

In celebration of the 75th International Credit Union Day, Chattahoochee Federal Credit Union donated $800 to Sav-A-Life. The organization plans to use the funds to provide newborn supplies such as car seats, cribs, diapers, and baby wipes to families in need. This act of kindness truly embodies the spirit of Credit Union Day.

REV Federal Credit Union

REV Federal Credit Union’s dedication to community service knows no bounds. Their “REV Day for Good” is a yearly event where their team members donate their time and labor to local nonprofits. In this recent event, more than 23 nonprofits across two states benefitted from over 1300 hours of volunteering. Their commitment to #UpTheGood shows the joy in ordinary moments when the community comes together to serve.

Kellogg Community Credit Union

Last month, Kellogg Community Credit Union made a heartwarming donation to St. Joseph County Animal Control. The credit union collected food and supplies for the shelter. Additionally, they added a $500 financial donation to support animal control. This act of compassion towards our four-legged friends is a testament to the credit union’s dedication to animal welfare.

Endurance Federal Credit Union

Endurance Federal Credit Union is a local hero for both humans and our furry friends. They participated in the Stephens County Humane Society’s Bark in the Park event. Thank you Endurance Federal Credit Union!
