Humanitarian Highlight 12.29.22
In this week’s #HumanitarianHighlight, we are celebrating a year of helping those in need. The end of the year is a time to reflect, grow, and appreciate all the support credit unions have provided to the communities they serve.
CoVantage Credit Union
CoVantage Credit Union raised $433,362.10 for local nonprofits as part of its 2022 Giving Tuesday campaign. The primary recipients of the campaign were Wausau’s Achieve Center and Friends of Emerson Park. The Wausau’s Achieve Center provides free care for children with developmental disabilities, chronic health problems, or physical disabilities. Friends of Emerson Park will use the funds to invest in the public park system to support the local community.
Spokane Teachers Credit Union
The Spokane Teachers Credit Union has pledged $56,000 to recover a burned school in the Almira School District in October 2021. The funds will be used for a new outdoor digital reader board and two sports scoreboards at the rebuilt Almira Elementary and Middle School. Great job Spokane Teachers Credit Union!
Compass Federal Credit Union
The Compass Federal Credit Union has donated more than $15,000 to 22 schools in the Oswego and Fulton school districts. This gift will be used to purchase shoes, snow pants, mittens, and other winter clothing for students. Thank you Compass Federal Credit Union for always helping those in need.
Olean Area Federal Credit Union
Olean Area Federal Credit Union donated $7,000 to seven food pantries in the communities they serve. The federal credit union has given back to New York and Pennsylvania counties by making sure those in need have enough to eat this season.
Suffolk Credit Union
Suffolk Credit Union donated 400 toys in partnership with the New York Cancer and Blood Specialists. The credit union’s Suffolk Smiles toy drive is a seasonal drive where members and staff dropped off toys at Suffolk Credit Union branches.
Envision Credit Union
Envision Credit Union was able to collect 275 coats through a coat drive earlier this year. They were able to collect new children’s coats through drop-boxes placed in their offices and the local library. With the help of the community, donations have made a difference at this cold time of the year. Great job at Envision Credit Union!
