Credit unions are bringing warmth to those in need during the coldest months. These stories from January, highlight credit unions spreading winter kindness in the neighborhoods they serve.

Belco Community Credit Union

Belco employees participated in the Women’s Leadership Network’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Volunteer Event. Over 100 members energetically assembled health and literacy kits, contributing to vital community initiatives like Contact to Care and Ready for School, Ready to Succeed. Great job, Belco Community Credit Union!

Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union

In a gesture of winter kindness, the Brainerd and Baxter Social Responsibility Committee at MidMinnesota Federal Credit Union donated $500 to the Brainerd Lakes Salvation Army. This financial boost aids the Salvation Army in assisting around 23 million Americans annually. Thank you for helping those facing challenges during the colder months.

Coosa Valley Credit Union

Coosa Valley Credit Union’s Dallas branch partnered with Helping Hands of Paulding County for their winter food drive. Inviting donations of non-perishable items, the credit union expressed gratitude for the warmth of community support during the chilly season.

Solarity Credit Union

Spreading warmth both figuratively and literally, Solarity Credit Union participated in the Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Walk. Serving free hot cocoa during the walk, they extended kindness by delivering the remaining hot cocoa to Camp Hope, a local homeless shelter. Consumers Credit Union

Consumers Credit Union empowered the next generation during the winter season by visiting the College of Lake County (CLC)’s Advanced Technology Center. Branch Managers Alvis and Miguel delivered a lesson in financial literacy to 25 students. Great job, Consumers CU, for helping make a meaningful impact in the community.

Magnolia Federal Credit Union

In observance of National Poverty in America Awareness Month, Magnolia Federal Credit Union volunteered with Shower Power MS. Shower Power MS provides free showers, food, and essential items to those in need. They have delivered over 5,000 showers since November of 2019.
