Humanitarian Highlight 10.12.23

Credit unions play an essential role in their communities, offering financial services to their members and supporting local initiatives. In this week’s #humanitarianhighlight, we’re observing credit unions supplying hope in their communities.

Robins Financial Credit Union

Robins Financial Credit Union donated $1,500 to the Macon Volunteer Clinic, sponsoring their Third Annual Called to Serve Tennis Tournament. This clinic ensures access to healthcare for working adults in Macon-Bibb and Twiggs counties, irrespective of insurance or income limitations.

Mid Oregon Credit Union

Mid Oregon Credit Union raised $2,261 and collected bins filled with school supplies during its annual Supplies 4 Schools fundraiser. They partnered with Family Access Network to distribute supplies to students in Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson Counties.

Hoosier Hills Credit Union

Hoosier Hills Credit Union radiates community spirit by joining the Pledge 1% Program. This initiative, coupled with their new service center in southeastern Indiana, demonstrates a strong commitment to giving back.

Hawaiʻi Community Federal Credit Union

When wildfires ravaged Maui, Hawaiʻi Community Federal Credit Union sprang into action. Hawaiʻi Community FCU partnered with Ka‘analike to initiate the “Maui Strong” fundraiser. They transformed their Kaloko Branch into a busy donation hub. The community gathered personal hygiene items, food, supplies, and clothing, and shipped to Kahului with the credit union’s support.

Island Federal Credit Union

Island Federal Credit Union donated $14,800 to Long Island Cares. The contribution was awarded $100 for every home run by Ducks players. They’re helping Long Island Cares in its mission to combat food insecurity, ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry.

America First Credit Union

America First Credit Union lights up hearts by supporting USANA Kids Eat’s weekend bag service. Their recent $50,000 donation and hands-on involvement in packing “weekend bags” demonstrate their commitment to feeding children locally and globally. Their annual Food Drive program is another example of how they weave community care into their mission.
