Humanitarian Highlight 8.24.23

Credit unions play an essential role in their communities by offering financial services and supporting local initiatives. In this week’s #humanitarianhighlight, we’re observing CUs putting students first.

Sikorsky Credit Union

Sikorsky Credit Union donated $5,000 to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Stratford, CT. The book gifting program provides free books to children. Thank you for putting students first, Sikorsky Credit Union.

Heartland Credit Union

Heartland Credit Union was one of the sponsors for the Boltz’s Community Carnival. The event brought together the South Metro community and local businesses with a day filled of fun, games, and food.   

Har-Co Credit Union

Earlier in August, Har-Co Credit Union awarded the Maryland & DC Credit Union Association scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship is one of eleven others that are part of the program. Har-co Credit Union, the Credit Union Foundation MD/DC, and its supporters cooperate to make this scholarship program possible.

Abound Credit Union

Abound Credit Union sponsored the WKU M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan’s Block Party. The credit union team connected with students with a fun night filled with games, snacks and free t-shirts.

First Nebraska Credit Union

First Nebraska Credit Union collected backpacks and supplies for the Salvation Army/KETV “7 Can Help Kids” Backpack Drive. The program has helped nearly 230,000 kids in its twenty five years in Omaha. Great work First Nebraska Credit Union!

Maps Credit Union

Maps Credit Union sponsored the 74th Annual Salem Art Fair. The community event was filled with arts & crafts, face painting, karate, music, and food.
