Humanitarian Highlight 6.29.23

In this week’s #HumanitarianHighlight, we thank credit unions for demonstrating that community spirit is at the heart of everything they do. These are credit unions that have positively impacted the communities in which they operate.

Listerhill Credit Union

Listerhill Credit Union helped spread joy and goodwill at the Haleyville 9-1-1 Festival. The credit union team handed out goodies to festival-goers. The festival became a vibrant celebration of community spirit.

Multipli Credit Union

Multipli Credit Union demonstrated its commitment to children’s well-being by participating in the 32nd annual Med Mile and 5K run. The community event benefits the Children’s Miracle Network by raising funds to support the medical needs of children. Thank you Multipli Credit Union for impacting young lives.

Directions Credit Union

At Directions Credit Union, the belief in the power of education and literacy is evident through their generous donation of $3,000 to the Monroe County Library System. This invaluable contribution enabled the purchase of approximately 1,900 summer reading prize books. These books will be given away to children who complete a summer reading log. This encourages a love for reading and fosters educational growth in the community.

CU Hawaiʻi

CU Hawaiʻi, a federal credit union, demonstrated its dedication to supporting sustainable homeownership by donating $17,418 to the Hawai‘i HomeOwnership Center. Leveraging a matching grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, Iowa, this contribution will provide crucial classes and personalized coaching to empower new homeowners.

Earthmover Credit Union

Earthmover Credit Union raised $1,197 for the Kendall County Animal Control during a recent shred event. Collaborating with the village of Montgomery, the event provided a safe and secure way for the community to dispose of personal documents. Earthmover Credit Union’s dedication touches the lives of both humans and animals in their community.

Tech Credit Union

Tech Credit Union demonstrated its unwavering support for the fight against cancer. They raised over $8,000 for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Lake County. The credit union team ended up being the third-highest donor out of 33 teams that participated. Great work Tech Credit Union!
