Humanitarian Highlight 7/18

Hello everyone and welcome to another #HumanitarianHighlight! Let’s get started by saying how incredibly wonderful all the credit unions mentioned below are. Creating a #CUdifference within the community takes a great deal of heart and determination to help those in need. Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union

Setting up a booth at Oscoda Art on the Beach, Alpena Alcona Area CU’s team members were selling homemade dog toys and treats as an effort to raise money for the Oscoda Area Schools’ therapy dog, Chester. In the end, they were able to raise over $600!

Royal Credit Union

The RCU Foundation was established in 2012 as a way to help support organizations and initiatives in the community that Royal CU is incorporated with. The RCU Foundation recently announced that the local charities will receive over $27,000, which follows the 25th-anniversary event of the 2019 Rock the Riverfront featuring the Charity Classic. Furthermore, the proceeds have been donated to Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation, The Open Door Clinic, and Stepping Stones: Food, Shelter, Support.

InRoads Credit Union

Donated over $51,000 to three high schools! That’s custrong!!

Michigan State University Federal Credit Union

With determination and will to help their community. Michigan State University FCU has donated $42,000 to be distributed to four charities.

Telcoe Federal Credit Union

Donated a $475 check to the Humane Society of Pulaski County in Little Rock.

Texoma Community Credit Union

Selling 902 raffle tickets, Texoma Community CU presented a $5,6330.35 check to Children’s Miracle Network! This being the 3rd year of the Texoma raffle, the total amount of money donated over the years to Children’s Miracle Network adds up to $15,800!

Alaska Credit Union League

Donated $15,000 to the Upper Susitna Food Pantry!

“Our area is populated by approximately 2500 people and during 2017 we served approximately 1/3 of our area population. Our clients include seniors, veterans, families, and individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Supplemental food is available to clients once a month with additional boxes provided at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Volunteers are the heart of the Food Pantry-we could not function without them. From cleaning and bagging produce to unloading trucks and stocking shelves our volunteers work hard to keep our doors open each week. In 2017 community members donated over 4,000 hours. That’s a lot of commitment!” Upper Susitna Food Pantry

Austin Chapter of Credit Unions

TopGolf Classic

Throughout the last three years, the TopGolf Classic raised over $57,000, and has one hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to Dell Children’s Medical Center to help benefit children. Held on October 17th, TopGolf Classic will be held from 5-8 pm.
