Humanitarian Highlight 03.04.26
Welcome back to our latest installment of Humanitarian Highlights, where we sift through the noise to bring you the stories of impact that truly matter. This week, our curation process was especially focused; we have carefully culled our top initiatives to feature those dedicated to protecting police officers, supporting our pets, and—most importantly—uplifting the next generation. We are diving deep into the organizations and individuals acting as true Champions for Children, ensuring that the world’s most vulnerable young voices are not just heard, but empowered. From local safety to global advocacy, these are the “pet causes” driving real change in our communities right now.
State Highway Patrol Federal Credit Union
State Highway Patrol FCU honored fallen officers by donating memorial ornaments to the annual Ohio State Highway Patrol Christmas Tree display. These ornaments were a heartfelt tribute to honor all the brave law enforcements officers that made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. A great way to honor their members, families, community. We also see they are accepting applications for their Gilbert H. Jones Memorial Scholarship.
St. Thomas Federal Credit Union
The First VI Soup Masters Competition supporting the Partners for Strings – Virgin Islands Youth Orchestra is coming up, this weekend. This event will have St. Thomas FCU as a major part of the event. Music is an important part of every community and it is great to see them in this event.
Technicolor Federal Credit Union
Technicolor FCU has long been a proud sponsor of Credit Unions for Kids, which benefits 170 children’s hospitals that are in the Children’s Miracle Network. They are always requesting donations of empty inkjet, laser, fax, copier cartridges, and cell phones they use for recycling and then donate the proceeds to the CMN.
Tri-Cities Community Federal Credit Union
Tri-CU Credit Union is working with Benton Franklin Humane Society to help their members find a new puppy love, while helping some four-legged friends find homes. They are also posting pics of some of the pets on their socials, so be sure to follow them.
First Community Credit Union
When First Community CU hit the $2.9 billion mark for their assets, they celebrated by announcing a $228,500 donation to two local nonprofits in Houston. The employees are going to help Bo’s Place and Houston Children’s Charity. These two charities are important for their community and these donations will go a long way to help in their goals.
Landmark Credit Union
Landmark Cu has had another success in their annual Chain of Hearts campaign, as they once again exceeded their goal again. They raised $66,207.60 to support Children’s Wisconsin, another great charity to help the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
