Humanitarian Highlight 2.26.26
We have a new batch of humanitarian highlights and we have a few that are “fur the greater good.” We have so many great humanitarians in the credit union community and so we love putting these together!
Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union
GCFCU is always doing some great humanitarian deed for their community and members. They have put the call out for those wanting to apply for their scholarship program, they had a Holiday Collection drive to help Toys For Kids and Blue Star Mothers, and of course they even had some free hams for their members!
GNC Community Federal Credit Union
GNC Community FCU recently held a Polar Plunge event to support Special Olympics Pennsylvania. A great cause to help local athletes in their community compete. They said “every icy splash supports year-round sports, training, and empowerment” for the athletes in their community. What a fun event to help those will be so very grateful the opportunities this will provide.
Midwest Coalition of Labor Credit Union
This past holiday season many credit unions participated in the Toys for Tots and Midwest Coalition of Labor CU was a part of that humanitarian cause. They collected many toys which were distributed to the children in their community. We know the credit unions run these drives, but it is their community and members that truly deserve some credit as well.
PWC Employees Federal Credit Union
PWC Employees FCU recently had a branch move and yet they still were working on a variety of humanitarian drives while preparing for that. They collected over 125 coats and so many kids’ accessories for their PWC Preschool Program. So many children in their community are staying warm thanks to PWC and their members. They were also collecting things for the pets in their community so they collected over 140 lbs. of animal food, as well as beds, blankets, carriers, treats and others to help keep their community’s pets safe and comfortable.
Atomic Credit Union
It is that time of year for credit unions to start looking for applications in their next scholarship awards. Atomic CU has been putting out calls for their scholarship. Credit unions are always looking for ways to assist their members and community so scholarships are a vital part of that promise.
Rio Grande Federal Credit Union
Hurst Humane Society was very grateful for the donation by Rio Grande FCU. Another humanitarian cause this week that was to benefit the furry friends in the community. This will help many pets get the meals, medical, and other necessitates.
