Humanitarian Highlight 02.12.26

We found many credit unions taking care of their members and community, so it is time for another Humanitarian Highlight. We go through the trades and social media to cull these lists to spread the word for the love of humanitarians.

Credit Union of Denver

The CU of Denver is currently accepting applications for those who would appreciate one of their $2,000 scholarships. They are awarding 5 such scholarships to their members seeking to take on higher education. Check their website for more information.

Valley Credit Union

A few months ago we saw Valley CU hold a food drive and we wanted to bring it up. They were collecting canned and non-perishable food items at a time where many resources became immediately unavailable. This is an annual fall food drive they do and we are sure the members and community are grateful for this event.

Heritage USA Federal Credit Union

Late last year, Heritage USA FCU held their “Give For Good” Campaign where their members rounded up their debit card purchases so the spare change could be donated to local non-profits. There were four non-profits to choose from and this was a great way to allow members to give small donations to create large benefits. They also have given thousands to CMN Children’s Network!

Greater Pittsburgh Police Federal Credit Union

GPP FCU participated in the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. This program allowed their members to donate unwrapped gifts to so many kids. There are always so many great programs to help children enjoy the magic of the season and every one of them is fully appreciated.

Sterling United Federal Credit Union

Sterling United FCU supported Easterseals Rehabilitation Center at their Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights. Easterseals is a local non-profit that assists children and young adults with vital therapy services. The employees of the CU have seen firsthand how important this non-profit is for their community.

Commodore Perry Federal Credit Union

Commodore Perry FCU contributed many blankets and socks to those in need working with the Ottawa County Senior Resources. Many employees, members and others in their community contributed to this drive.
