Humanitarian Highlight 12.11.25
With the holidays coming up, we see the credit unions stepping up their charitable drives and donations. We saw many participate in the recent Giving Tuesday event, but these credit unions know that charity is more than just one day. They are stocking the shelves with food donations, clothing drives, and other great deeds.
Friends and Family Credit Union, Inc.
Earlier this month, the Friends and Family CU wrapped up their “Giving Trees” campaign, and now this week, they will be ending their drive for coats and other gear to help keep their community warm. What a great way to support your members and community with this campaign.
Minnequa Works Credit Union
In an effort to help fight cancer, Minnequa Works CU worked with the Helping Hands Foundation of Minnequa Works to donate to the Dorcy Cancer Center at CommonSpirit St. Mary-Corwin Hospital. There are always tasks that must be accomplished, and there will never be a day when a need does not arise; therefore, credit unions like Minnequa Works continually seek ways to improve their assistance to members and the community.
Pathways Financial Federal Credit Union
Pathways Financial FCU, via its Pathways Cares initiative, donated $3,000 to the Parma Hunger Center. A pantry that is part of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank network serves over 250 families residing in Parma every week. With recent events, many food banks are struggling more than they were just a year ago. That is why these donations are so important! We also saw that they supported the Shop With a Cop and donated $10,000 to the American Cancer Society.
APCI Federal Credit Union
APCI FCU has long had a mission to donate youth financial literacy books to the libraries in the communities where their members work and live. Last month, they visited the Mesa Public Library in Arizona to donate some books to help the youth read and learn about finances to start them early.
Coast360 Federal Credit Union
Another charity that many credit unions partner with is the Salvation Army, and this month, we see Coast360 FCU with the iconic red Salvation Army Kettles in their locations to help that cause. Many will find comfort and aid due to these donations.
River Valley Credit Union
For Giving Tuesday, we saw River Valley CU help a few different charities. They supported The Foodbank, 4 Paws for Ability, Shoes for the Shoeless, and A Special Wish Foundation. Great causes helping their community in many ways. They are really trying to ensure they help all those in their community.
