Humanitarian Highlight 11.13.25

Two major holidays in the United States honor those who serve this nation. One is Memorial Day, which honors those who gave their lives in dedication and honor to this nation. This week, we observe Veterans Day, a day that honors all who give up their time and commitment to serve, regardless of the actions they were a part of. We will look at some great humanitarians, especially those serving those who serve.

Digital Federal Credit Union

DCU has a great cause, the DCU For Kids Foundation, with a mission to end hunger and provide healthier food to families in need. A few months ago, they awarded a grant to Open Table, a local organization that also addresses food insecurity. They have also been awarding annual scholarships!

Members First Credit Union

This Michigan-based credit union recently supported an initiative to launch a book vending machine at the Freeland Learning Center. But we also saw that they assisted the Hidden Harvest, the READ Association of Saginaw County, and the Rescue Ministries of Mid-Michigan. But that is also on the heels of supporting the Delta College Possible Dream program to help students build their pathway to college, and an ongoing food drive! Keep up the great work!

Pentagon Federal Credit Union

This week, we celebrate the veterans, and so let’s also celebrate the PenFed causes. They are on a mission to improve the lives of those who have served this nation in uniform, from their 9:57 project honoring the heroes of Flight 93, the CreatiVets to bring hope through art, a Veteran Entrepreneur Program, and a raffle right now to win a new car with the funds used to continue in their outreach. Hooah!!

Navy Federal Credit Union

Another great cu dedicated to those who serve is the Navy FCU, and their Navy Federal Serves initiative is one of many causes they donate time and money to. To name a few, there is the Veterans in Service that will support veterans all month long, Soldiers’ Angels to provide aid and resources for military and veterans, as well as other important causes.

Pen Air Federal Credit Union

Recently, they have helped support their community and those serving in uniform during the current turbulent times as they partnered with Manna Food Pantries and provided essential goods to those furloughed or impacted by recent disruptions. They also led the charge to help those in debt.

Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union

Several members from Fort Brag FCU joined in on the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. A charity event to raise money and awareness for the care and research of those suffering from this ailment.
