Humanitarian Highlight 08.07.25
Credit unions are always giving a big hand to support local families, students, and veterans. They’re packing backpacks, building playhouses, sorting clothes, showcasing local talent, and connecting with neighbors in meaningful ways. In this week’s #humanitarianhighlight, we follow CUs that are giving a big hand to the communities in which they serve.
All One Credit Union
All One Credit Union partnered with 508 Forever Young in Worcester, Massachusetts, for a back-to-school event. Their team filled backpacks with school supplies to support the 508 Back 2 School Backpack Giveaway. This local nonprofit ensures kids start school with everything they need. Thank you, AOCU, for giving a big hand to hundreds of kids who are stepping into the school year.
Central One Federal Credit Union
Central One Federal Credit Union joined forces with Habitat for Humanity for “Operation Playhouse.” Together, they built playhouses for children of military and veteran families. Employees swapped desks for toolboxes. The CU team showed that they can build more than finances; they can also build futures. Central One gave a big hand to families who have given so much.
Members 1st Federal Credit Union
Members 1st Federal Credit Union launched a successful school supply drive. From backpacks to highlighters and even hygiene items, the community came together to donate. Members 1st partnered with trusted local organizations like New Hope Ministries and Hoffman Homes to distribute the items. Their support helps local students walk into classrooms ready to learn and grow.
Genesee Co-op Federal Credit Union
At Genesee Co-op Federal Credit Union, community voices take center stage. Their art show of books displayed works by local authors; from poetry to nonfiction. The event celebrated creativity and elevated voices from the neighborhood. By supporting local literature and artists, Genesee Co-op gave a big hand to the thinkers and dreamers in their community.
Police and Fire Federal Credit Union
Police and Fire Federal Credit Union sent employees to the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory in Philadelphia. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to sort and fold clothing for kids and teens in need. These efforts ensure kids have clothes that fit and are clean. PFFCU gave a big hand by making sure every child feels seen, warm, and supported.
Truliant Federal Credit Union
Truliant Federal Credit Union visited the Easley Farmers Market to meet neighbors face-to-face. Their team shared financial tips and answered questions while locals shopped for fresh produce. This grassroots outreach brought financial wellness into everyday life. It’s proof that community outreach doesn’t need a stage…just a tent, a table, and a whole lot of heart.
