Humanitarian Highlight 07.24.25

Credit unions are raising smiles in ways that go beyond banking. Whether it’s helping kids dream bigger, families eat better, or neighbors celebrate louder, CUs are spreading joy across the communities they serve.

Colorado Credit Union

In June, Colorado Credit Union hosted its free Shred Day events. They also raised over $1,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado! The funds will help ignite youth potential across the state. Thank you, Colorado CU, for showing us a powerful example of raising smiles.

My Community Credit Union

At Community Credit Union, casual Fridays mean serious giving. They raised $20,000 for local nonprofits through their employee jeans program. Four groups received $5,000 each, including Habitat for Humanity and Reflection Ministries. MCCU turned comfortable pairs of jeans into huge smiles.

Jovia Financial Credit Union

Fourth of July in New York lit up brighter this year thanks to Jovia Financial Credit Union. Thousands gathered at Jones Beach for their Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular. Giveaways, games, and glowing smiles filled the shoreline. That’s one unforgettable way to raise smiles.

Wescom Financial

Wescom rolled up its sleeves and got to work. At the Food Bank for Monterey County, their team assembled over 1,350 food bags. They also donated $4,000 to the cause. This hands-on support shows how credit unions can lead with compassion.

UPenn Student Federal Credit Union

UPenn SFCU teamed up to celebrate Women’s History Month by co-hosting the Philadelphia Financial Workshop Series in March. Workshops focused on budgeting, investing, and building financial power. It was free and open to all. Smiles grow when confidence in money grows, too.

Visions Federal Credit Union

Visions Federal Credit Union believes in the next generation of leaders. They donated $10,000 to Alvernia University’s Momentum Makers Summer Camp. This hands-on program helps youth explore innovation and creativity. Visions invests in brighter tomorrows by investing in learning. They’re planting seeds of potential and that’s a smile worth raising.
