Humanitarian Highlight 07.10.25

When it comes to giving back, some organizations truly shine. That’s especially true for credit unions with hearts of gold. These community-driven champions are funding nonprofits, handing out flowers, and volunteering their time. In this week’s #humanitarianhighlight, we follow CUs with a heart of gold.

Southland Credit Union

Southland Credit Union made tails wag by sponsoring a pet adoption event with spcaLA. Families left with furry new best friends. The event raised awareness for animal care and inspired more adoptions. Southland’s heart of gold showed through every paw print and happy goodbye.

Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union

Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines awarded $1 million in grants. Forty-one Minnesota nonprofits received vital support. These funds help communities tackle housing challenges, food insecurity, and local development. With a heart of gold and a big check, they lifted communities large and small.

KeyPoint Credit Union

KeyPoint Credit Union connected with neighbors at the lively Sunnyvale Art & Wine Festival. Team members shared smiles, answered questions, and gave sneak peeks of what’s next. KeyPoint showed what having a heart of gold truly means.

River City Federal Credit Union

River City Federal Credit Union jumped into action at the Texas Diaper Bank. Their volunteers packed essential hygiene items for families in need. These efforts brought comfort and relief to many in San Antonio.

Building Trades Credit Union

Building Trades Credit Union made this year’s Mother’s Day special with beautiful carnations for their members. Whether it was a mother stopping by or a member who would hand out their gift later, smiles were exchanged that day. Great work, BTCU!

Garden Savings Federal Credit Union

Garden Savings Federal Credit Union walked proudly in Newark’s Portuguese Parade. The team waved, danced, and celebrated the community they serve. Garden Savings showed that credit unions march shoulder to shoulder with their community!
