Humanitarian Highlight 05.22.25
There’s something magical about community collaboration. It’s that feeling when people come together for a local cause. Across the country, credit unions are stepping up, reaching out, and spreading kindness in the neighborhoods they call home. From donation drives to student mentorship, their commitment runs deep. These CU-stories remind us that community collaboration creates ripples of hope, education, and compassion. And the best part? There’s more to come.
Credit Union of Georgia
Credit Union of Georgia collected hundreds of items for Loving Arms Cancer Outreach. They delivered every item with care, thanks to generous member and staff donations throughout February and March. These supplies help individuals and families navigate cancer treatment with dignity and hope. Community collaboration made a difference for those in the fight of their lives.
FirstLight Federal Credit Union
Shredding for a cause? That’s the spirit of community collaboration! FirstLight FCU hosted its Shred Day to celebrate Earth Day with a twist. Neighbors safely disposed of documents and donated non-perishables for local school pantries. That’s two birds for one heartfelt event. It wasn’t just about protecting identities. It was about feeding futures. Thank you, FirstLight FCU!
USF Credit Union
USF Credit Union knows that community collaboration starts with fresh ideas. That’s why they welcomed students from Cristo Rey Tampa High School for a creative brainstorm. The energy was electric! The students did not hold back. Together, they reimagined internships with a bold vision. A partnership rooted in growth and possibility.
Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union
Aloha to the next generation! Hawaiian Financial FCU showed up at Kalei’opu’u Elementary’s career fair with big smiles and brighter dreams. Their team introduced young students to the exciting world of financial careers. By answering questions and making finance fun, they helped spark new dreams and expand what’s possible for Hawaii’s keiki. Community collaboration starts early and grows strong.
Superior Credit Union
The Sylvania Spring Expo bloomed with joy, and Superior Credit Union was right in the mix. Their team spent the day chatting, laughing, and connecting with community members. Every handshake and smile deepened trust. Events like these create and keep community bonds tight and strong.
Sikorsky Credit Union
Sikorsky Credit Union turned budgeting into a hands-on adventure at Bunnell High School. The Reality Fair gave students a taste of real-life money management. Teens picked careers, faced bills, and learned how to handle surprise expenses. The energy was high, and the lessons were lasting.
