Humanitarian Highlight 05.15.25

Every community has heroes. Some wear capes. Others wear credit union name tags. Our Community Finance Heroes don’t just manage money, but also move hearts. They gave, served, walked, ran, and protected. In this week’s #humanitarianhighlight, we follow CUs serving as Community Finance Heroes.

Kirtland Credit Union

The Denim & Diamonds Gala glowed, and Kirtland Credit Union brought the shine. Their team danced, laughed, and helped raise $213,000 for the Rio Grande Down Syndrome Network. This beautiful event celebrated every smile and every child. Kirtland proved heroes can wear denim and still dazzle.

Georgetown Kraft Credit Union

Shred Day in Georgetown was more than a cleanup—it was a safety mission. Georgetown Kraft Credit Union and Shred-it joined forces to protect privacy. Locals drove up, dropped off, and drove away smiling. Paper by paper, GKCU fought fraud and built trust. That’s what Community Finance Heroes do.

3Rivers Credit Union

3Rivers Credit Union teamed up with the BBB for a community Shred Day to remember. They shredded sensitive documents and worries in one swift motion. It was local action with lasting peace of mind. They offered drive-up document shredding to protect personal data. Great work, 3Rivers Credit Union!

Tower Federal Credit Union

Tower Federal employees laced up for the 2025 Credit Union Cherry Blossom 5K in Washington, D.C. With every step, they raised money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Tower showed that Community Finance Heroes go the distance.

Fort Community Credit Union

Fort Community Credit Union stood side by side with local families at the Jefferson County Cancer Walk. They walked, cheered, and raised funds to help cancer patients. Their presence brought encouragement and real support to neighbors in need.

Riverfront Federal Credit Union

Riverfront Federal Credit Union donated $1,000 to the Reading Science Center through swag sales and round-up donations. Their gift fueled STEM education and helped spark creativity in young minds. Thank you, Riverfront Federal Credit Union!
