Humanitarian Highlight 04.24.25
Every big change starts with a tiny seed. And no one knows this better than credit unions. They don’t just serve communities—they grow them. They dig in, show up, and lift others. Whether they’re funding scholarships, cheering at local events, or teaching kids to save, these credit unions are planting seeds of change.
Listerhill Credit Union
Listerhill Credit Union put $91,425 directly into the hands of education leaders. They presented a generous check to the Athens State University Alumni Association. This ongoing partnership reflects a powerful investment in students and their futures. Three team members attended the celebration with big smiles and bigger hearts. They’re not just banking on success—they’re helping grow it. A seed of change was planted in every scholarship winner honored that night.
Navigant Credit Union
At Shea High School’s career fair, Navigant Credit Union showed up with a purpose. Their team met with students to talk about jobs, money, and giving back. Navigant believes in starting early to build strong futures. Their visit gave students tools to grow personally and financially. That’s how you plant seeds that grow into future leaders.
First Atlantic Federal Credit Union
College dreams can feel out of reach, but First Atlantic is changing that. They’re awarding four $1,000 scholarships this year. Each dollar is a seed of support for students chasing a brighter future. With tuition on the rise, this help matters more than ever. Their message is clear: “We see you. We believe in you.” That kind of encouragement lasts long after the semester ends.
Coast Central Credit Union
High heels, big laughs, and even bigger impact. Coast Central joined Soroptimist International’s High Heels for Healing fundraiser. Prominent men walked in women’s shoes to raise awareness and funds. From scholarships to support services, this event inspires laughs—and change. Their presence showed true allyship and community pride. Every step, every laugh, and every dollar raised planted a new seed of hope.
Heritage Family Credit Union
Heritage Family Credit Union gave $12,000 to The MINT makerspace in Rutland. The donation supports hands-on programs that spark creativity and learning. Team members dropped by in person to meet the staff and share smiles. This space teaches innovation, problem-solving, and curiosity. Those are seeds that will grow into empowered young minds. And that’s a seed worth planting again and again.
Trius Federal Credit Union
Fifth graders at Bryan Elementary had a special visit. Trius Federal Credit Union came to teach them about saving. They made money lessons fun, simple, and unforgettable. Students practiced service projects and helped their community, too. Trius reminded everyone that it’s never too early to make a difference. That’s a long-term investment in every young life they touch.
