A strong community starts with real connections. Credit unions understand this better than anyone. They go beyond banking to support local businesses, students, and families. From hosting events to funding important programs, they invest time where it matters. Here are six credit unions making a difference by connecting with the community.

Eglin Federal Credit Union

Eglin Federal Credit Union joined UWF – Emerald Coast’s Emerging Leaders Adult Field Day, bringing energy and enthusiasm. Their teams competed in sack races, tug-of-war, and other fun activities. Team #2 even made it to the finals! Great work, Eglin FCU, for building stronger bonds with local leaders and neighbors.

Black Hills Federal Credit Union

Black Hills Federal Credit Union partnered with five organizations to create over 100 fleece blankets. Their employees worked together, cutting and tying blankets for women and children in need. But their impact doesn’t stop there. Now, they’re collecting hygiene items for the unhoused and veterans. A small act of kindness can bring big comfort.

Maps Credit Union

Teachers give so much to their students, and Maps Credit Union gives back to them. Through their Maps School Supply Grant program, they awarded 40 teachers with $500 each. This funding helps teachers provide essential supplies for their students. Investing in education means investing in the future.

UMassFive College Credit Union

Networking creates opportunities, and UMassFive College Credit Union makes sure local businesses have them. They sponsor the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce’s New Member Coffee Connect event. Every month, new and potential members meet, ask questions, and connect with community leaders. A strong business network helps the whole community thrive.

Mabuhay Credit Union

Mabuhay Credit Union supported local businesses as a Community Sponsor for the Unlock New Markets event. Hosted by the Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce of South Bay, this event helped businesses reach new audiences. Supporting small businesses means creating jobs and building a stronger local economy. Thank you, MCU, for connecting with the community.

Cal State L.A. Federal Credit Union

Credit knowledge is power. Cal State L.A. Federal Credit Union hosted a free webinar, Unleashing the Power of Credit, to teach people how to build and improve their credit. They covered credit scores, reports, and smart financial strategies. Better credit leads to better opportunities, and this credit union wants to see its community thrive.
