Humanitarian Highlight 1.30.25
Credit unions remind us that granting wishes isn’t just about giving—it’s about creating lasting change. Whether spreading holiday joy or addressing critical needs, their efforts inspire us all. We give thanks to these credit unions for making the world a little brighter. This week, we’re highlighting credit unions granting wishes in the communities in which they serve.
Lincoln Maine Federal Credit Union
Lincoln Maine FCU rallied its community with its Angel Tree program. Members selected tags, shopped for gifts, and returned them wrapped with love. These gifts were then delivered to families in need, ensuring no one felt forgotten during the holidays. Lincoln Maine FCU reminded us all that giving creates true holiday magic.
Coastal Credit Union
Coastal Credit Union made Giving Tuesday extra special with a grant to the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina. This funding will help foster care programs and provide vital family support services. Coastal CU also joined the Hope for the Holidays initiative, granting wishes to children in foster care.
Nizari Progressive Federal Credit Union
Nizari PFCU teamed up with the Ismaili Southwestern Council for the Share Your Holiday food drive. Their employees collected donations, packed boxes, and ensured families received much-needed support. By stepping up during the holidays, Nizari PFCU showed what it means to serve with heart.
Gesa Credit Union
Gesa Credit Union took action on Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a community-wide service event. Volunteers distributed food, laundry soap, and other essentials to families in need. Gesa CU’s efforts honored Dr. King’s legacy by turning words into impactful deeds.
Harvard Federal Credit Union
In October, Harvard Federal Credit Union hosted a donation drive for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Members dropped off toiletries and other essentials for YWCA USA and Transition House. The outpouring of support from their community helped create hope for survivors and strengthened efforts to build a safer future. Thank you, Harvard FCU, for granting wishes for those in need.
Numerica Credit Union
Numerica Credit Union partnered with Second Harvest INW’s Bite2Go program to tackle weekend hunger. Volunteers sorted and packed food for families in need. Through their CARES for Kids initiative, Numerica CU proved that every meal makes a difference.
