Humanitarian Highlight 01.16.25
Winter warmth comes in many forms—bundled-up coats, hot cocoa, and generous acts of kindness. Credit unions across the country brought their brand of warmth this season. Through donations, partnerships, and volunteer efforts, they helped brighten lives when it mattered most. Let’s celebrate credit unions that made winter a little warmer for the communities in which they serve.
Service Credit Union
Service Credit Union brought smiles to military families at Pease Air Force Base. Led by their Pease branch manager, Keyhana, they packed 100 food baskets for military members. This thoughtful gesture showed their appreciation for those who serve. Thank you, Service CU, for filling baskets and hearts!
CapEd Credit Union
CapEd Credit Union helped students reach new heights by supporting the National Braille Challenge. They partnered with ISDB Raptors and awarded Ms. Sasha $500 to boost student participation. Their generosity ensures that students get the education they need.
LMCU
LMCU tackled hunger head-on in East Michigan by teaming up with Forgotten Harvest. As part of their Ending the Year Strong campaign, they packed fresh food for local pantries. Their hard work provided nutritious meals and winter warmth to families in need.
North Georgia Credit Union
North Georgia Credit Union donated meaningfully to the American Legion Post 104. Board member Tommy Ayers selected this local non-profit to receive $500. Their contribution supports veterans and honors those who have served the nation. Great work, North Georgia CU!
Avenir Financial
Avenir Financial ended the year with generosity by donating to La Paz Community Food Bank. Their contribution ensured struggling families and seniors had fresh produce and essentials to start the new year. Thank you, Avenir Financial, for spreading winter warmth!
Credit Union West
Credit Union West made an impact by donating $500 to JAG Arizona through its CU CARES Charitable Foundation. JAG’s partnership with Credit Union West supports career development and financial education for students. Their continued commitment helps build brighter futures for Arizona’s youth.
