Humanitarian Highlight 10.17.24
“Serving the Community” is more than just a phrase—it’s a commitment. Today, we celebrate credit unions that have gone above and beyond to uphold this vow.
Corning Credit Union
Corning Credit Union teamed up with Catholic Charities to offer homebuyer education in Chemung & Schuyler Counties. By leading informative sessions, Corning helped potential homeowners understand the process and take confident steps toward homeownership. Their focus on education ensures that more community members can turn their dreams into reality.
Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union
Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union organized a drive to collect donations for the Geneva Center of Concern. The credit union encouraged community members to drop off needed items at their Geneva office, making it easy for everyone to get involved. Together, they made a significant difference for families in need, showing the power of serving the community.
Hudson Valley Credit Union
Hudson Valley Credit Union continues to invest in the future by awarding more than $30,000 in scholarships. Students like Francesca Oliva and Anaya Pandya, from John Jay Senior High School, received well-deserved financial support. These scholarships help students achieve their academic goals. Great work, Hudson Valley CU!
Tucson Federal Credit Union
Tucson Federal Credit Union took action to support education by hosting a school supply drive for Sunnyside High School. The credit union encouraged community members to donate classroom essentials, ensuring students have what they need to succeed. Tucson FCU’s drive helped prepare students for the school year.
First Commerce Credit Union
First Commerce Credit Union hosted a Community Shred Day, giving their members a chance to safely dispose of sensitive documents. Partnering with Secure Records Solutions and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, they created a secure environment for protecting personal information. This event is a great example of how First Commerce CU is serving the community.
Northern Communities Credit Union
Northern Communities Credit Union was a sponsor to the Lakes and Pines Chapter ATV Ride, raising money for Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids). The event was full of fun, adventure, and heart. Every dollar raised supported children’s hospitals, making the ride even more meaningful for everyone involved.
