Humanitarian Highlight 4.27.23
From supporting local non-profits to helping education institutions, credit unions are dedicated to improving the lives of their members and neighbors. After all, credit unions are more than just financial institutions. In this #HumanitarianHighlight, we are celebrating community bonds formed by credit unions.
Desert Financial Credit Union
Firstly, Desert Financial Credit Union raised $550,000 for Phoenix Children’s 1 Darn Cool School through Desert Financial Foundation’s 25th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. The 1 Darn Cool School is a fully accredited K-12 school that provides hospitalized children with help as they fight illnesses and injuries. We would like to celebrate the strong community bond of these organizations.
Land of Lincoln Credit Union
Secondly, Land of Lincoln Credit Union donated $20,000 to Empowerment Opportunity Center. The funds will be used to support the Empower Pantry. Great work Land of Lincoln Credit Union!
SAFE Federal Credit Union
Thirdly, SAFE Federal Credit Union held a Shred Day event where people could bring their documents for fast and secure shredding. The event raised over $1,000 for Sumter United Ministries. Great job SAFE Federal Credit Union!
Natco Credit Union
Fourthly, Natco Credit Union donated $1,000 each to two local food pantries. The CU presented the funds to the Sylvan Nook Food and the Crosspointe Biker Church. Thank you Natco Credit Union!
MidWest America Federal Credit Union
MidWest America Federal Credit Union volunteered at the SCAN Inc. Brown Bag Lunch. The event raised $41,252.28 by selling over 2,500 lunches. The funds will help support SCAN’s mission to protect children, prepare parents, and strengthen families.
Complex Community FCU
Lastly, Complex Community FCU teamed up with Crockett Middle School at their Spring into Reading event. The event promoted literacy and the amusement of reading to children. Thank you Complex Community FCU!
