Credit unions play an essential role in their communities, offering financial services to their members and supporting local initiatives. In this week’s #humanitarianhighlight, we’re observing some of the credit unions that are stars in the community.
Hudson River Community Credit Union
Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) is a shining star for its support of local youth centers. They donated $10,000 to the Glens Falls Area Youth Center to support its programs for at-risk youth in three counties in New York. Thank you HRCCU for providing financial assistance to local families.
Visions Federal Credit Union
Visions Federal Credit Union donated $50,000 to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) through their “The Big Give” initiative. Representatives from Visions Cares traveled to five regional AFSP offices to present each chapter with a $10,000 donation.
Meridian Credit Union
Meridian Credit Union is a beacon of hope for local music programs through its Good Neighbour Program. The credit union donated $250 to Sistema Walkerton, a non-profit organization that provides free violin lessons to students seeking professional violin lessons in the local community. The donation was made to support the local music program, which is designed to reduce barriers for students seeking professional violin lessons.
Delta Community Credit Union
Delta Community Credit Union has donated $35,000 to four nonprofit organizations in metro Atlanta to support local youth education as part of its “Philanthropic Fund” awards. Delta Community will invest a total of $150,000 in 20 metro Atlanta nonprofit organizations throughout 2023 through its Philanthropic Fund. Great work Delta Community Credit Union!
Keesler Federal Credit Union
Keesler Federal Credit Union is a shining star in Gulfport, Mississippi. They donated rolling duffle bags packed with supplies to local foster children. The initiative is aimed at helping children in foster care who sometimes have to move without having a proper bag to put their belongings in. Thank you Keesler Federal Credit Union.
M-O Federal Credit Union
M-O Federal Credit Union donated $240 to the Beadle County Humane Society. The funds were raised in 2022 when staff gave a monetary donation to wear jeans on designated “Jean Weeks.” The Beadle County Humane Society provides animal control services and emergency assistance in Beadle County and the surrounding area.
