Humanitarian Highlight 2.16.23

In this week’s #HumanitarianHighlight, we thank all the credit unions that demonstrate that “sharing is caring” at the heart of everything they do. These are just a few of the many credit unions that have positively impacted the communities in which they operate.

Community 1st Credit Union

Community 1st Credit Union pledged $100,000 to the Ottumwa Indoor Sportsplex. The state-of-the-art facility will provide space for the community to exercise and practice recreational activities. Great work Community 1st Credit Union!

California Coast Credit Union

California Coast Credit Union raised $18,000 to support local community colleges through their Pack the Pantry food drive. They partnered with the San Diego Food Bank to distribute food and supplies. The money raised will provide 36,000 meals to underserved people in the community.

Christian Financial Credit Union

Christian Financial Credit Union volunteered at Motown Soup, a volunteer organization that produces prepackaged mixes to create soups, dips, bread, and desserts. The volunteers assisted in the prepping of over 800 spice packs. The organization donates the profits made from selling mixes to other nonprofits in Michigan.

Arsenal Credit Union

Arsenal Credit Union provided a $1,500 grant to the Needy Paws Rescue. The grant will be used to provide medical care for the dogs at the shelter. Thank you Arsenal Credit Union!

Heritage South Community Credit Union

In August of 2022, Heritage South Community Credit Union gifted $8,500 to teachers in the communities it serves. In addition, they covered the tuition of an entire class of students to be trained as EMTs in Bedford County. #ThrowbackThursdays

Centreville Bank

Centerville Bank awarded Madonna Place, Inc. with a $5,000 grant. This grant will help fund the organization’s services that provide support and help strengthen families against abuse and neglect. Thank you Centerville Bank!
