Humanitarian Highlight 02.09.23

In this week’s #HumanitarianHighlight, we spotlight a few credit unions that go the whole nine yards for their members and communities. We want to thank all the credit unions below for volunteering, hosting blood drives, and providing other forms of assistance in the communities they serve.

Via Credit Union

Via Credit Union donated $10,000 to the Junior Achievement. The contribution will go towards helping high school students learn the long-term impact of financial decisions through the Junior Achievement’s Advanced Finance Park curriculum.

North Jersey Federal Credit Union

North Jersey Federal Credit Union gifted $3,500 to the Paterson School District in support of their Confidence Closets initiative. The funds will be used to provide personal hygiene products to students in underserved communities.

MAC Federal Credit Union

MAC Federal Credit Union donated $5,250 to Our 2 Cents Fairbanks, Inc. in support of their Safe Phones for Survivors project. Their donation will go towards purchasing prepaid cell phones for survivors through the Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living.

San Diego County Credit Union

San Diego County Credit Union partnered with the San Diego Blood Bank and hosted a New Year’s blood drive on the 4th of January. The blood drive collected 87 units of blood. Thank you San Diego County Credit Union!

Addition Financial

Addition Financial helped with the prepping and packaging of over 42,000 meals at Feeding Children Everywhere. The meals will help feed those in need around Ft. Meyers. Great work Addition Financial!

SeaComm FCU

SeaComm gifted $500 to the Potsdam Humane Society. The contribution will assist the organization in providing shelter and finding permanent homes to neglected animals.
