Humanitarian Highlight 01.12.23
This week’s #HumanitarianHighlight is on the kind gestures given by credit unions. It brings us great joy to see all these wonderful credit unions doing good deeds in their communities.
Credit Union Georgia
In 2022, the Georgia Credit Union made charitable contributions totaling more than $100,000 to employee-chosen organizations. Numerous local charities in Cobb County and the Atlanta area have received funding. Through monetary donations, volunteerism, and donations of food, clothing, toys and personal care products, the credit union has demonstrated its commitment to the community.
InFirst Federal Credit Union
The Humble Hustle Company received a $5,000 donation from InFirst Federal Credit Union. The Humble Hustle Company brings diverse communities together by creating inclusive spaces and charity events that support them. InFirst Federal Credit Union will be working with The Humble Hustle Company to offer financial literacy seminars throughout 2023.
First Commerce Credit Union
First Commerce Credit Union donated $5,000 to Valdosta Toys for Tots as part of the Power of Gratitude CD drive. In addition, the credit union used its facilities in South Georgia and North Florida as donation sites to collect toys. Great job First Commerce Credit Union!
ELGA Credit Union
ELGA Credit Union collected over 2,200 toys by partnering with the Michigan State Police for the 10th Annual Stuff a Blue Goose Toy Drive. Through the event, they were able to raise $20,598 to help support the Salvation Army Toy Shoppe.
Greenville Heritage Federal Credit Union
Greenville Heritage Federal Credit Union collected 250 pounds of pantry items to help support the Loaves & Fishes 2022 Stock the Shelves campaign. They also made a monetary donation of $725.32. Well done Greenville Heritage Federal Credit Union!
Texell Credit Union
Texell Credit Union started the year by volunteering at the Love of Christ Food Pantry in Temple. Volunteers worked late into the night, helping 137 families load food and supplies. Great job Texell Credit Union! #TexellServes
