Humanitarian Highlight 12.22.22

This week’s #HumanitarianHighlight is on credit unions engaging in the season of giving. We’re approaching the end of the year, and these credit unions are giving everything they can to support the season!

Workers Credit Union

Workers Credit Union volunteers joined hundreds of others placing wreaths at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery for National Wreaths Across America Day, the 16th of December. The group endured the cold and snow being blown on their faces to place a total of 3,092 wreaths. Thank you Workers Credit Union!

Advanz Credit Union

Advanz Credit Union raised $2,500 to purchase gifts and necessities for children at the Louisville nonprofit. Since 1880, Home of the Innocents has been a nonprofit that provides programs such as behavioral health services, therapeutic foster care, adoption services, supportive services for homeless young adults, and long-term care for medically complex or terminally ill children.

Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union

Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union hosted its 10th annual toy drive. They were able to collect nearly two hundred toys this year.

OneAZ Credit Union

OneAZ Credit Union and the Arizona Department of Child Safety teamed up to give presents to the local youth in foster care. They were able to provide gifts to 150 kids in Arizona. Great job OneAZ Credit Union!

Kitsap Credit Union

Kitsap Credit Union donated $6,000 to Bremerton Backpack Brigade, a nonprofit that provides a supplemental food source on weekends for children in need. The donation will help restock pantry shelves to provide more aid throughout eight Bremerton Elementary schools.

Freedom First Credit Union

Freedom First Credit Union awarded a $5,000 grant to the Wonder Universe museum as part of their 2022 Community Investment Grant Program. The donation will help fund the Museums for All program, which gives free admission to kids and discounted adult admission for families participating in SNAP or WIC benefit programs.
