Humanitarian Highlight 09.22.22
It’s Thursday, and we have put together another #HumanitarianHighlight where we look at CU’s supporting the communities in which they operate. This week we follow credit unions that are assisting communities through donations and organizing fundraising events.
Dort Financial Credit Union
Dort Financial Credit Union raised $82,015 through their Let’s Make Miracles Radiothon to support the Children’s Miracle Network program at Hurley Children’s Hospital. The proceeds will help fund several programs and services the hospital offers. Great job Dort Financial Credit Union!
Fairmont Federal Credit Union
Fairmont Federal Credit Union is always looking for ways to support the communities they serve. They recently donated $50,000 to WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital. The funds will support the hospital’s school intervention program, which helps patients with their schoolwork during their time in the hospital.
OnPoint Community Credit Union
OnPoint Community Credit Union gave $100,218 to Oregon and Southwest Washington non-profit organizations through their annual Employee Giving Campaign. The money was divided and given to Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest, Girls Build, and Cascade AIDS Project.
Pathways Financial Credit Union
Pathways Financial Credit Union donated $5,000 to the Northwest Kiwanis Youth Soccer Program to help with the purchase of new equipment. In addition, the soccer program was also presented with adaptive recreation soccer balls and goals.
Kawartha Credit Union
Kawartha Credit Union gifted $5,000 to Loyalist College. The funds will be used to provide bursaries to students in health science programs.
Stoughton Credit Union
Stoughton Credit Union held a fundraising barbeque to help the Stoughton Curling Club. The event was able to collect $2,471 in donations and Stoughton Credit Union gave an additional $1,500. Thank you Stoughton Credit Union!
