Humanitarian Highlight 08.25.22

It’s Thursday, and we have put together another #HumanitarianHighlight where we look at CUs committed to the communities in which they operate. This week we follow credit unions that are determined to help their communities through donations and sponsoring local events.

Gesa Credit Union

Gesa Credit Union donated over $300,000 to local schools through their Affinity Debit Card Program. The credit union has donated over a million dollars since the start of the program in 2015. Thank you Gesa Credit Union!

AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union

AlaskaUSA Foundation is committed to helping foster children in their community. They recently donated $10,000 to A Greater Hope Foundation’s Family Hope Connections Project, a program that provides foster children and families with innovative and therapeutic services.

TTCU Federal Credit Union

TTCU Federal Credit Union donated $7,000 to Northeastern State University as part of their School Pride program. The funds will be used to support the President’s Ambassadors Network Program, a program that provides professional development opportunities such as training on behavior intervention and threat assessment, multisensory education, forest carbon management techniques, and stream survey skills.

Greenville Federal Credit Union

Greenville Federal Credit Union awards $500 grants to ten local teachers as part of their annual Teacher Grants program. The grants will help teachers fund a variety of projects and classroom supplies. Way to go Greenville FCU!

North Island Credit Union

North Island Credit Union provided 500 backpacks and school supplies to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego’s Back 2 School Drive. The backpacks will be given to students in elementary through high school.

Altra Federal Credit Union

Altra Federal Credit Union helped sponsor the Back to School Block Party, a community-organized event helping students get ready for classes. Students were given free backpacks, hygiene products, and haircuts.
