Humanitarian Highlight 08.18.22

Summertime brings out the best in all of us, and this week’s #HumanitarianHighlight features credit unions that are shining bright. Here are just a few credit unions that have continued to show their support for students, workers, and many others in their community. Time to celebrate summer time in the community.

Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union

Caring for everyone around their community, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union sponsored the 2022 Summer Music Mixer held in Tawas City. The event helped raise funds for the Huron Hockey and Skating Association.

Community Choice Credit Union

It’s back-to-school time and credit unions are stepping up in many ways. Choice Credit Union handed out nearly 1,000 backpacks containing school supplies at their annual backpack giveaway event. Guests at the event were also treated to food, face painting, balloon art, and many other fun activities.

Center Parc Credit Union

Center Parc Credit Union gifted $3,500 to help sponsor the Ready Set Go! Back to School event. The community event has provided 5,000 bags of school supplies for students in Chatham and surrounding counties since its start in 2009.

1st MidAmerica Credit Union

1st MidAmerica Credit Union awarded $1,000 scholarships to five local high school graduates. The winners were chosen for their academic achievements and participation within their communities.

Town & Country Credit Union

To improve the quality of life for local residents, Town & Country Credit Union donated $50,000 to the Trinity Health Foundation to support their Trinity Health Healthcare Campus and Medical District Capital Campaign. Farmers, ranchers, rural residents, and others in the region will gain access to quality healthcare services within the new healthcare campus and medical district.

Vibe Credit Union

Vibe Credit Union volunteered at The Salvation Army Great Lakes Division’s kitchen and made 3,600 sandwiches that were distributed on the Bed & Bread trucks. Each day, the vehicles make multiple stops throughout Detroit as mobile soup kitchens.
