Humanitarian Highlight 08.11.22

This week’s #HumanitarianHighlight is on CUs helping the communities in which they operate get ready to go back to school. These incredible credit unions are providing support for educational costs through donations, community events, scholarships, and supplies.

Pelican State Credit Union

Pelican State Credit Union prepped the people of Louisiana to go back to school when they hosted their 18th Annual Free Kids Bike Race. The event was a great success as 114 children received medals of completion, goody bags, shirts, and refreshments.

Kinecta Federal Credit Union

To help disadvantaged students, credit unions organize events that provide supplies needed to go back to school. Kinecta Federal Credit Union distributed backpacks filled with school supplies at their 13th Annual Backpack Drive. The credit union has helped nearly 6,000 students since starting the Backpack Drive in 2010.

Honor Credit Union

Honor Credit Union provided over 200 local students with backpacks stuffed with school supplies at their Coldwater Back-To-School Backpack Giveaway. They were able to hand out all backpacks within half an hour.
