Humanitarian Highlight 07.28.22
It’s Thursday, and we have put together another #HumanitarianHighlight which shows credit unions making an impact through donations, scholarships, and community programs. These are CU’s making an impact!
Robins Financial Credit Union
Robins Financial Credit Union has been a positive impact on the state of Georgia for decades. The credit union gifted $46,000 to the Crisis Line & Safe House of Central Georgia, an organization that provides community crisis intervention, safe shelter, comprehensive support, and recovery services.
Sharonview Federal Credit Union
Sharonview Federal Credit Union is impacting the fight against homelessness in the communities in which they serve. They donated $2,500 to Habitat for Humanity of Greenville, an organization that focuses on making affordable housing a possibility for everyone.
Riverfront Federal Credit Union
Riverfront Federal Credit Union raised over $2,000 for the American Cancer Society with a BBQ chicken fundraiser. Their efforts will help support the organization’s research on cancer treatments.
Arizona Central Credit Union
Arizona Central Credit Union awarded their $2,000 CU Succeed Scholarships to two graduating high school seniors. The winners were chosen by their educational achievements and are able to renew the scholarship for up to four consecutive years.
Arlington Community Federal Credit Union
Arlington Community Federal Credit Union is committed to making an impact by being a good neighbor and serving with integrity. The federal credit union awarded $30,000 in grants to local nonprofits for their efforts in housing, financial education, and workforce development in the greater Northern Virginia region.
Associated Credit Union
The Associated Credit Union partnered with Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta to collect new clothing items, diapers, and other essentials. They collected a total of 158 sets of pajamas, 15 boxes of diapers, and 42 baby blankets for families that were unable to grab supplies in their rush to the hospital.
