Humanitarian Highlight 07.21.22
This week’s #HumanitarianHighlight features credit unions being humanitarians in the community for their respective charitable gifts. Here are a few examples of credit unions giving back and passing out kindness this summer.
WESTconsin Credit Union
Kindness Counts, Pass It On! is a motto that WESTconsin Credit Union embraces. Recently, they announced the results of their 2022 Summer Food Drive. In total, WESTconsin CU was able to raise $1,399 and collect 963 non-perishable food items. All proceeds collected will be distributed by the credit union to local food pantries.
Texas Trust Credit Union
Texas Trust Credit Union is on a mission to build a brighter future in the communities they serve. This summer they raised $14,100 for the American Cancer Society through their 5th Annual Relay for Life Walk.
Horizon Credit Union
Horizon Credit Union donated $2,000 to the Boundary Search and Dive Rescue Team, a volunteer organization that assists the sheriff’s office with searches for lost hikers, hunters, water rescues and recoveries. The CU’s contribution will be used to procure updated equipment and pay for training.
Cabrillo Credit Union
Cabrillo Credit Union raised $44,000 for the Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego as part of their month-long May Means Business Fundraiser. The pediatric medical center treats children from birth to 18 years old.
Pyramid Federal Credit Union
Pyramid Federal Credit Union gifted $958 to Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona, an organization that provides meals to people who are unable to drive, shop, or cooks their own meals. You can make a donation by going to https://mobilemealssoaz.org/support-mobile-meals/donate/[CFC1]
TruMark Financial Credit Union
TruMark Financial Credit Union awarded a donation of $7,500 to United Way of Bucks County to support their mission of providing emergency assistance to those in need. They also gifted children’s books to United Way’s HELP Center, a facility that provides essential supplies like cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items, and home goods.
