Humanitarian Highlight 06.09.22

This week’s #HumanitarianHighlight is on CUs boosting the community. Here are a few credit unions awarding, pledging, and giving assistance.

California Credit Union

California Credit Union is awarding $10,000 in scholarships to 10 students. The students are chosen by their school and community activities.

iQ Credit Union

iQ Credit Union has launched a 3-year grant program to aid local nonprofits. The following three recipients will receive $1,500 per year: Rocksolid Community Teen Center, Assistance League Southwest Washington, and YWCA Clark County.

New England Federal Credit Union

New England Federal Credit Union donated $31,500 to University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. The donation is part of the CU’s annual campaign called the Big Change Roundup.

WESTconsin Credit Union

WESTconsin Credit Union will provide aid leading to a new delivery van for the Stepping Stones of Dunn County, an organization that provides food, shelter, and support in the community. The van will be used for food deliveries, volunteer projects, and senior home visits.

Five Star Credit Union

Five Star Credit Union is gifting a $10,000 scholarship grant to Southern Regional Technical College. The credit union is helping to remove some of the financial barriers to college for students in the community.

Expree Credit Union

Expree Credit Union has awarded a $2,500 student scholarship to Kendall Harper. The Expree Scholarship Committee selected the winner based on community involvement, academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, and an essay entree.
