Humanitarian Highlight 9/26
Happy Thursday and happy #HumanitarianHighlight day! Let’s say it together, WE LOVE CREDIT UNIONS!! We hope you all love our blog post as much as we do, so please let us know in the comment section what you think! If you know of any credit union that went above and beyond for their community, use #HumanitarianHighlight to be featured on our page and show us how your charity causes a chain reaction!
Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union
The love this credit union has to give out is incredible. Mid-Hudson FCU donated and is showing their support as a sponsor for the Pets Alive, Harvest of Hope event coming up on October 5.

Homefield Credit Union
Employees and families from Homefield CU came together to participate in the 20th Annual UMass Cancer Walk & Run. Raising $3,000, all proceeds went directly to help support the research, clinical trials, and patient care.
WesTex Federal Credit Union
Learning that some children go home without the basic essentials, WesTex FCU didn’t have the heart to push this issue aside. Thinking about the future generation, the WesTex FCU team came together to help replenish the Pirate Pantry at Lubbock-Cooper East Elementary School.
“The Pantry’s ultimate goal is to help each child with the best possible chance to succeed. Charnese Perez is in charge of the program, which serves all eight campuses within the Lubbock-Cooper school district. Donations from community members are accepted, so the next time you are at the grocery store, Costco, or Sam’s, pick up an extra item or two and take it by the Pirate Pantry.”
Greater Iowa Credit Union
Proud to help create a #CUdifference, Greater Iowa CU donated $1,000 and helped support one of the state’s largest nonprofit human services agencies, Lutheran Services in Iowa.
“OUR VALUES:
UNITE: Together we are stronger. We can achieve greater impact by supporting, celebrating, and trusting each other and our community. RESPECT: Every person is a unique gift of God, worthy of being treated with humility, empathy, and integrity.
GROW: We create a culture of continuous learning and innovation to uplift one another and those we serve.
EMPOWER: We give voice to those who are not heard, advocate for social justice, and encourage people to achieve greatness.” Lutheran Services in Iowa

OnPoint Community Credit Union
Donated $10,000 to help support the Oregon Humane Society’s Humane Education Program!
“Oregon Humane Society has been a longtime favorite organization of both OnPoint employees and our members,” said OnPoint President and CEO Rob Stuart. “We are pleased to support them in a way that marries our passion for animals with our commitment to supporting educators and students.” Oregon Humane Society’s Humane Education Program
GCS Credit Union
Nothing better than joining together to help create a #CUmovement. GCS CU’s employees helped raise $1,031 to go towards The BackStoppers.
“The BackStoppers support families of fallen heroes by paying off all debt, providing health and dental insurance, reimbursing for out-of-pocket medical expenses, and assisting with tuition and education costs from daycare through university.
The BackStoppers supports approximately 80 families with 65 dependent children. They have supported more than 160 families since 1959 and provide roughly $1.5 million in assistance annually.” The BackStoppers, Inc.
