Credit unions play an essential role in their communities, offering financial services to their members and supporting local initiatives. In this week’s #humanitarianhighlight, we follow credit unions growing bonds in the communities they serve.
Yolo Federal Credit Union
Yolo Federal Credit Union donated $17,000 to multiple organizations for the Yolo Community Foundation’s 2023 Big Day of Giving. The program provides awareness and resources to the nonprofit sector.
Security Credit Union
Security Credit Union presented the Lapeer County Sheriff Department’s dive team with a $10,300 donation. The funds will be used to upgrade the team’s equipment.
First Financial FCU
First Financial FCU donated $10,000 to the Maryland School for the Blind. The organization provides outreach, educational, and residential programs to students with blindness or low vision of all abilities.
Tropical Financial Credit Union
Tropical Financial Credit Union awarded $10,000 in scholarships last month. The credit union presented one $5,000 and two $2,500 scholarships to this year’s winners.
evergreenDIRECT Credit Union
evergreenDIRECT Credit Union volunteered at the Annual Letter Carriers’ Food Drive Event. The credit union team helped collect and transport donated items for the Thurslon County Food bank.
Notre Dame Federal Credit Union
Notre Dame Federal Credit Union sponsored an emotional support dog for the School City of Whiting. The federal credit union donated over $8,000 to adapt, train, and care for the support animal.
