Humanitarian Highlight 10.13.22
This week’s #HumanitarianHighlight is on CUs building hope in the communities in which they operate. Here are a few credit unions providing aid through donations, creating community events, and fundraisers.
Suncoast Credit Union
Suncoast Credit Union donated $600,000 to hurricane relief efforts. The majority of the donation helped fund emergency management organizations. A portion of the funds was donated to the School District of Lee County. Great job building hope!
Royal Credit Union
Royal Credit Union donated $500,000 to the construction of the Freedom Park Center. The credit union is a strong supporter of community centers because they provide people with locations to learn and build connections.
Rivertown Community Credit Union
Rivertown Community Credit Union is always participating in the communities within the Grand Rapids area. The credit union recently held its Trick or Treat Trail, an event where community members dressed up, received candy and participated in other activities.
Crane Credit Union
Crane Credit Unionassembled 500 care packages for USO Indiana, an American nonprofit-charitable corporation that provides live entertainment and other programs to members of the United States Armed Forces and their families.
Monroe Community CU
Monroe Community Credit Union collected winter clothing to help the Monroe Public Schools District. The credit union collected items at its six branch locations to help kids and their families acquire clothes for the season.
Mid Oregon Credit Union
Mid Oregon Credit Union donated 50 bicycles to local children in partnership with La Pine Park & Recreation. The credit union helped assembled the bikes that were collected through their branches and not-for-profit partnerships.
