Humanitarian Highlight 8.19.21

This week’s #HumanitarianHighlight is on credit unions supplying schools and parents with the funds and supplies needed to sustain young minds.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union

PenFed Credit Union, through its’ Eugene Service Center, announced what charities would receive significant donations. These donations, worth a combined $20,000, were presented to Bags of Love, A Family for Every Child, and Hope & Safety Alliance. These charities are centralized in Eugene and offer essentials to children in need.

Christian Community Credit Union

$10,000 was donated to Olive Crest – USA, an organization that helps protect vulnerable children.  The donation was raised through credit union members who used their cards as part of the “Cards that Give to Missions” program that Christian Community Credit Union offers.

Maui County Federal Credit Union

This credit union’s Maui and Molokai county locations volunteered to help the Maui Food Bank with packaging food boxes for senior citizens. Over 525 food boxes were packed by the credit union branches.

Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union

This credit union recently participated in the 2021 Credit Union Coalition Food Drive, surpassing its individual goal of $2,000 raised. Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union also donated non-perishable donations to the coalition. The Food Drive seeks to help those in serious need of nutrition, including senior citizens. 

United Texas Credit Union

United Texas Credit Union’s annual “Stuff the Smart Car” event donated backpacks and monetary donations to Boone Elementary and Curington Elementary schools. The donated materials will help students in these elementary schools that cannot afford new backpacks or school supplies.

CBC Federal Credit Union

Learn Earn Return, a nonprofit organization, received a sizeable donation of school supplies and money through CBC Federal Credit Union’s Oxnard branch.

Oak Tree Business Systems, Inc.

Credit unions supplying schools and parents are helping sustain young minds, especially the ones in serious need of financial help. These credit unions can hold their heads high knowing they’re helping children feel determined to exceed in education.
