Hello everyone and happy #HumanitarianHighlight day! Reaching out to those in need can and will enlighten someone else around to create a similar act of kindness. We wanted to highlight some amazing credit unions who have stepped up to the plate and took action in creating a #CUdifference. If you know of any credit union that went above and beyond for their community, use #HumanitarianHighlight to be featured on our page!
This incredible credit union loves giving back to the community no matter the service. First Community CU volunteered with packing Kids’ Meals with the biggest smiles on their faces. Way to go everyone!
Raising over $4,000, Firefly donated the money to The Richard M. Schulze Family American Cancer Society Hope Lodge.
“The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program provides a free home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers. More than just a roof over their heads, it’s a nurturing community that helps patients access the care they need. Each Hope Lodge community offers a supportive, homelike environment where guests can share a meal, join in the evening’s activities, or unwind in their own private room. Patients staying at a Hope Lodge must be in active cancer treatment, and permanently reside more than 40 miles or one hour away from their cancer treatment center. Each patient must be accompanied by a caregiver.” The Richard M. Schulze Family American Cancer Society Hope Lodge

Incredible job to Listerhill Credit Union for raising an outstanding amount of $14,429.43 going towards Relay for Life!
With the proceeds from Pima FCU’s 2019 Golf Classic, this credit union was able to donate $17,000 to the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation-SALEF.
“The Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation (SALEF) is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization (TIN 20-0559408) established in 2003. We raise public awareness and money to support the needs of our Tucson area law enforcement agencies. Currently, we partner with the Tucson Police Department, Marana Police Department, U of A Police Department and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Our achievements are credited to the expertise of our dedicated volunteer board members who are strong advocates of law enforcement employees and believe in supporting our law enforcement officers. SALEF aims to ensure a sustainable financial model by presenting community events and programs, building corporate partnerships, and acquiring grants. As a result, we help law enforcement agencies increase officer safety, provide equipment and technology to reduce crime, generate better community relations and assist in their mission to protect and serve the citizens of Southern Arizona.” SALEF
