Helping Hands in the Community

This week's #HumanitarianHighlight is on that consistently lend their helping hands. Credit unions are always looking for ways to assist the communities that are near or far. Check out these helping hands in the community!

Freedom Credit Union

There are few organizations that have been lending their hands for as long as Freedom has. In honor of their 100th year anniversary, they are hosting the 100 Days Summer Food Drive to raise donations on behalf of the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. People can donate at any of their branches until September 5th.

First Basin Credit Union

First Basin Credit Union has started it's 7th annual “Back to School” donation drive to purchase school supplies for the children of Rainbow Room of the Permian Basin. The Rainbow Room works to assist foster children and children involved in Child Protective Services. The donation drive lasts through July 27th.

Red Canoe Credit Union

Red Canoe Credit Union awarded their Brenda Godfrey/Jack Elms Scholarship, a $4,000 scholarship for postgraduate studies. The scholarship was created to honor two important people in the credit union's history. The winner was chosen for their contributions to the local community.

Ardent Credit Union

Ardent Credit Union donated $15,893 to two nonprofit aid organizations to help Ukraine: the United Ukrainian American Relief Committee and the World Central Kitchen. The contributions will go towards acquiring food and medical supplies for parts of Ukraine.

TopLine Federal Credit Union

Topline Federal Credit Union aids several local non-profit organizations each year. Recently, it held its first-ever Diaper and Wipe Drive where people were able to donate diapers, wipes, and other baby care items. They were able to collect over 4,600 diapers, over 200 wipe packs, and $660 to assist area families in need.

WSECU

The Boys & Girls Club is an after-school program that provides a safe place for students to learn and grow.  To help the program, WSECU donated $53,250 to the Washington State Boys & Girls Club.
