Humanitarian Highlight 4/2/2020: A Joint Community
Welcome everyone, to another #HumanitarianHighlight! We hope all is well and that you are enjoying this beautiful Thursday. In today's blog, we have many credit unions that were mentioned for various acts of kindness. If you would like to be involved in our future #HumanitarianHighlights, send us a direct message through our social media, or use the hashtag for us to see!
Loving their community and helping out in any way possible, cPort CU took the opportunity to sponsor a basketball team for the Swish-Out Childhood Cancer Challenge. Guess what? The annual event nearly raised a grand total of $45,000, which will be donated to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program!
This incredible credit union donated $25,000 to help support a Fairy Wonderland themed park that will be a life-sized fairy garden for kids of all ages and abilities.
“We are a group of parents who have a vision of honoring some pretty special children who left this earth WAY too soon….. Ava, Tyler, and Ellery. After the loss of a child, there is NOTHING worse than the thought of people forgetting your child. So, we put our broken hearts and minds together and have come up with a way to remember our children while creating joy for others.” Fairy Wonderland

Wanting to keep the members of their community warm, Holyoke CU’s employees and members donated boxes full of winter clothing to the Providence Ministries for the Needy!
Keeping the love going, City & County CU excitedly sponsored Eagan High School’s Hospitality Class for their final! Way to show your #CUdifference everyone!

How incredible is this?! Skyward Credit Union donated $7k to the Guadalupe Clinic in an effort to help serve the hard-working, low-income people in the community.
“Guadalupe Clinic has more than 300 volunteers give their time and resources to support the mission of this clinic, which is the only free will donation clinic in Wichita. Last year, Guadalupe Clinic served more than 2,100 individuals, providing 7,800+ visits at no cost to patients. Many patients do not have health insurance/coverage and would not ordinarily have access to health care were it not for Guadalupe Clinic.” CU Social Good
