CU Mergers Conference & Security Director’s Conference
The CU Conference in San Antonia, Texas was all about mergers and acquisitions. The conference answered questions such as why do Credit Unions merge, how to find a partner, member concerns, external and internal synergies, issues with getting it done, issues concerning the board, CEO, operations, PR and culture.
In addition, CU Conferences also held the Security Management and Director’s conference in San Antonio this same week. Those who attended this conference were security managers, board of directors, supervisory committee members, board chairs, auditors, CEO’s, HR managers, training managers and compliance officers. The main focus of this conference was to provide a standardized training program for the Security Manager. The main focus of the conference according to CU Conferences is on “industry-standard security practices, personal and corporate security, and safety awareness, the compliance with regulatory and legal issues, the successful implementation and management of a credit union-wide security function”.
Both conferences were held during the Fiesta San Antonio also known as “The Party With a Purpose”. This is a spring festival that has been around since the 1800’s and is the cities biggest festival. Those who attended these conferences were also able to enjoy the more than 100 events that also took place this same week in San Antonio.
